11 Plus School Holiday Courses 2021/2022 – Yr 5
Dear Parents,
Please find below dates for 11 Plus courses over the upcoming school holidays. These masterclasses have been strategically developed to give our students the edge over their competitors. Historically, children that have attended them have gone on to be selected for selective and super-selective grammar and independent schools, including those students whose progress was markedly less than their peers.
Children have always enjoyed doing these courses over the years and typically give them a rating of 5 stars. They have been designed to effectively challenge students and quickly enhance skills in a fun and engaging way. We often have to plead with the children to let us go, despite the sessions being 4 hours long.
Realistic mock tests are included as part of some of the courses. See individual course for details.
Should you want your child to attend any of the following courses, please contact me as soon as possible to reserve their place. The courses are open to non-members too, as spaces on these courses are limited, they are often oversubscribed.
Points to note:
- Places are allocated on a first come basis.
- Places are only regarded as reserved once payment has been accepted.
- If you are not paying in full at the time of booking, then a non-refundable deposit of £100 must be paid to secure the booking.
- Unless a course becomes unavailable deposits are non-refundable.
- The balance of a course must be paid 2 weeks before the start of the course.

This workshop has been created to help children boost and develop their creative writing and vocabulary skills. These skills are an important requirement for their 11 Plus exam, and students can benefit from extra support in this area beyond what is covered in the weekly lessons due to time constraints.
Children will be exposed to interactive drama, advanced vocabulary, model answers and given tools to help enhance their own writing in line with the requirements for selective exams. They will go on to produce their own piece. We will be going into much greater depth than we can do during the lessons due to the hours being dedicated to the task.

Many students who are typically good at English can struggle with 11 Plus comprehension. This workshop is designed to combat that struggle and help children develop and boost their comprehension and vocabulary skills. These skills are an essential component of their 11 Plus exam, and students can benefit from extra support in this area beyond what is covered in the weekly lessons due to time constraints.
Children will be exposed to creative techniques, advanced vocabulary, advanced comprehension, model answers and given tools to help enhance their ability to tackle both multiple choice and standard format questions, in line with the requirements for selective exams. We will be going into much greater depth than we can do during the lessons due to the hours being dedicated to the task.

This course is designed to help children build their confidence in topics that students notoriously find challenging to tackle accurately under time pressure. To maximize the effectiveness of the lesson, each session is 4 hours long to enable us to greater subject depth as time permits. Each class builds upon the knowledge gained from the former class.
Monday 4th April 2022, 9am-1pm – Maths: arithmetic and word problems (various topics), NVR: spatial reasoning
Tuesday 5th April 2022, 9am-1pm – English and VR: Intensive comprehension, cloze and vocabulary
Wednesday 6th April 2022, 9am-1pm Maths: arithmetic and word problems (various topics), NVR: codes and sequences
Thursday 7th April 2022, 9am- 1pm – Creative writing, grammar and spelling

Course fees: Each 4 hour lesson is £100. If you book the entire course it is discounted to £380.
June 11 Plus Booster:
This three day course is designed to help children prepare for and get an essential early taste of how the real exam will be. The booster course leaves students with enough time to work on rectifying their mistakes and or bad exam habits before the real 11 Plus exam. Reports about how students perform under realistic exam conditions are provided as part of the mock feedback. Students who book the mock test are provided with an exam report and are also given exclusive access to special videos that go through questions with step by step detailed answers.

Course fees: The 4 hour lessons are £100 each. If you book the entire course it is discounted to £285.
This is the final course before the real exam. The course has proven to be extremely effective and the former students’ outstanding results speak for themselves. The course is ideally suited if you would like your child to revise, refine their exam technique, and strengthen any outstanding weak areas before their big day. As part of the course we will also be holding mock exams in the style of the real Bexley, Bromley, Kent and Medway exams both on site, and at Hurst Community Centre, Bexley.

Course fees: Each 4 hour session is £100. The full week (22nd August to Friday 26th August) is £475, and the entire 56 hour course is £1,330.
